The Simonton Story
Simonton was founded in Pennsboro, West Virginia in 1946, when Fred and Sybil Simonton recognized the need for high-quality exterior aluminum products and founded Pen Vent Awning. Their son would later help take Simonton to the next level. In 1981, he convinced the rest of the family that in order to differentiate the company from its competitors, they would need to begin producing energy-efficient vinyl windows. As a result, Simonton Windows was born.
Today, the Simonton portfolio of products includes 12 different window and patio door lines with varying structural and stylistic features, all of which can be ordered to meet ENERGY STAR® guidelines. In addition, Simonton is committed to always exceeding customer expectations with the highest‐quality products available and unbeatable service, which is reflected in the recognition it has garnered.
Throughout the past decade, the Simonton brand has been honored with a number of prestigious awards, including: Highest in Builder and Remodeler Satisfaction seven times by J.D. Power, Highest in Customer Satisfaction in 2010 by J.D. Power, highest in quality in the vinyl window category of the Brand Use Study published by Builder Magazine four different times and, in 2014, Simonton’s ProFinish Contractor series was named the Best Vinyl Window by Consumer Reports.
Finally, Ply Gem Industries supports giving back to the communities where our associates work and live. Over the past 12 years in West Virginia, more than $420,000 has been raised for the Ritchie County Relay for Life; countless volunteer hours donated to organizations such as the Nature Conservancy and the Central Ohio Ronald McDonald House; and, during the summer of 2015, more than $60,000 was collected for Pelotonia, a bike ride in Columbus, OH where all proceeds support cancer research.
