As part of the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022, annual federal tax credits of up to $1200 are available for energy-efficient home envelope improvements ($1100 for qualifying windows and doors) purchased and installed between January 1, 2023, and December 31, 2025.

1. Purchase and install ENERGY STAR Most Efficient certified Simonton windows or ENERGY STAR certified Simonton patio doors between January 1, 2023, and December 31, 2025.
2. Save your purchase documentation and sales receipt.
3. Retain the National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC) label for each eligible window and door, as it may be requested by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). The window/door NFRC Ratings and ENERGY STAR qualification information is printed on the Simonton NFRC Label adhered to your window/door.
4. When completing your federal tax filing, include Cornerstone Building Brands’ Window & Door Qualified Manufacturer (QM) Code C3N5 on Form 5695 for window and door installations that qualify for the Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit.

Homeowners who complete qualified energy-efficient improvements to their principal residence, including a renovation or addition to their existing home. The home must be in the United States and can include a house, houseboat, mobile home, cooperative apartment, condominium, and manufactured home. New construction homes and rentals are not eligible.
The Energy Efficient Home Improvement Tax Credit has no lifetime limitation. The annual maximum allows $1,200 in tax credits for all qualifying building envelope components—$1100 for windows and doors. You can maximize your federal tax credit savings each year by making eligible home improvements over time.
