Five months of training and fundraising; 44 associates; a combined 1955 miles rode in two days; more than $63,000 raised; all for one goal – to end cancer.
Pelotonia was established with the objective to fund life-saving cancer research. Its model remains simple: operating expenses are covered by funding partners so that 100% of every dollar raised by Pelotonia Riders, Virtual Riders and Volunteers goes directly to fund cancer research at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center. Then, months of training and fundraising culminate in a three-day experience that includes a weekend of cycling, entertainment and volunteerism.
This was Simonton Windows and Doors’ fourth year participating in Pelotonia and, as expected, Simonton’s associates did not disappoint. The company raised more than $63,000, $20,000 more than the previous year, and with two months still left to fund raise.
Simonton not only exceeded its goal in fundraising, but in employee participation as well. The company had 44 associates participate in the event in various ways, including: donating their time volunteering, fundraising as virtual riders, and riding.
Thank you to all of Team Simonton’s partners and supporters who helped the peloton achieve its goals! And a special thank you to Amesbury Truth, Cement Marketing, EGR International, NR Media, PSG, and Weber Associates, who went above and beyond with their support.
