Horizontal Roller Windows Introduced in Simonton StormBreaker Plus 300VL Product Line

PARKERSBURG, W. VA. –  Coastal area homeowners can now watch the world sail by while gaining more airflow into their homes. New Horizontal Roller windows in the Simonton StormBreaker Plus® 300VL series of impact-resistant products make it easy for homeowners to request single roller windows for their coastal homes.

The vinyl-framed Horizontal Roller windows have a standard DP50 rating and can be ordered with Solar Esolar control glass as an upgrade option to make the windows ENERGY STAR® qualified. Simonton offers the Horizontal Roller in a variety of sizes (with a minimum of 25 inches wide by 19 inches high up to a maximum unit size of 73 inches wide by 62 inches high) to complement the needs of all coastal home styles.

The single roller style window meets American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA) codes for coastal areas and has received statewide approval for use in Florida through the Florida Building Code (FBC).

“These custom-made windows come with a box frame in either white or tan vinyl in the StormBreaker Plus 300VL series,” according to Sid Spear, vice president of sales and marketing for Simonton Windows. “This style of window is extremely popular in Florida and other coastal areas. We anticipate that coastal homeowners will greatly appreciate the  addition of the Horizontal Roller product offering and will request the product for coastal area new construction and replacement applications.”

Simonton’s Horizontal Rollers are constructed with an L-bracket on the bottom to hold the fixed portion of the window unit in place. Windows can be ordered in both the “XO” and “OX” opening configurations. Standard Delrin® rollers are included with the windows.

Simonton Windows produces ENERGY STAR qualified replacement and new construction windows and doors, including a line of impact-resistant products. The company was ranked #1 in quality in the 2007 Brand Use Study sponsored by Builder magazine and has won two consecutive Best In Class Awards for being ranked “Overall Top Rated Vinyl Window Brand” in unaided industry studies.
