Simonton Windows® Selected
for 2008 Blog Cabin
PARKERSBURG, WV – Millions of people are helping the DIY Network decide which products and features should be included in the 2008 Blog Cabin by voting their choices online at www.diynetwork.com. One of the most important selections will be which style of Simonton windows should be included in the lakeside home being constructed in Tennessee.
“Starting on February 11 and going through February 24, 2008, people can go to the www.diynetwork.com web site and vote on the style of vinyl-framed Simonton windows they would like to see added to the home,” says Marty Davis, marketing communications manager for Simonton Windows. “The windows we contribute to this project will be ENERGY STAR® qualified to help with the energy efficiency of the Blog Cabin.”
The Blog Cabin experience with DIY Network represents a step into unique programming where the public becomes interactive in determining the design and product features of the log cabin that will be built and featured on the show. The construction of the cabin will be filmed and broadcast in a 13-part TV series starting in August of 2008. Once the cabin is completed, DIY Network will promote an on-line Blog Cabin Sweepstakes to encourage viewers to enter to win the cabin. Immediately following the airing of the final episode, the network selects a winner at random to win the cabin.
More than 4.2 million voters participated in the on-line design of the 2007 Blog Cabin in 2007. An additional 3.2 million sweepstakes entries were received. An even stronger participation level is expected this year in the 2008 Blog Cabin experience as millions of people vote on the design and product selection on-line and then view the show on DIY Network.
“Simonton Windows is extremely pleased to be involved in such an exciting and educational programming endeavor for the public,” says Davis. “Our low-maintenance windows complement the easy-care lakeside living aspect that is being sought by producers of the show. Having top-quality, low-maintenance windows with high energy efficiency features make this a winning combination for any homeowner.”
