Simonton’s New Cable Support System
Speeds Up Bay/Bow Installations
PARKERSBURG, W. VA. – Simonton Windows® has introduced a new Bay/Bow window cable support system that makes installation faster and easier than ever before. Entirely new to the industry and available exclusively from Simonton, the system uses a hook that attaches to the 5/16-inch all-thread at the top of the window unit. This eliminates the need for two different cable lengths and the need to use knee braces or corbels to support the bay unit.
“The new cable system incorporates a zero-slip clamp with both coarse and fine adjustments to be made at the front of the unit during installations,” according to Mark DeSimone, marketing manager with Simonton Windows. “This new design provides more flexibility to the installation of the units in various situations including those with limited clearance.”
The cable support kits include complete installation instructions for all Bay and Bow units from Simonton. The new system eliminates the need for using two different lengths of cable to install Bays and Bows, reducing operational difficulties.
“Simonton has obtained exclusivity for the use of this new cable system for 18 months,” says DeSimone. “This means that remodelers and builders looking for a faster and easier way to install Bay and Bow units should contact Simonton to benefit from our new system.”
Simonton explored the development of this new installation system when building industry professionals explained that the previous installation system was difficult and did not provide positive lock-up. At times, the cable slipped and the nose of the Bay unit dropped during installation. The new zero-slip clamp and thread system eliminates these problems, making it faster and easier for Bays and Bows to be installed on the job site.
“The labor savings using this new system are tremendous,” says DeSimone. “There’s also a greater peace-of-mind for contractors because they know the new system allows for fewer mistakes on the job site and is faster to install.”
