Simonton Offers Lodz-366 Glass

PARKERSBURG, W. VA. – Simonton Windows®, a leader in the window and door industry, has announced that the company is now offering energy-efficient Lodz-366® glass as a product upgrade option on a wide variety of the company’s most popular product lines.

Featuring an unprecedented triple layer of silver applied through sputter coating technology, Lodz-366 glass blocks more solar heat gain and harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays than all other Low E glass options available in the marketplace.

“Lodz-366 glass blocks 95 percent of the sun’s damaging UV rays and reduces heat gain by up to 64 percent compared to ordinary glass,” says Christopher Burk, product manager for Simonton Windows. “This translates into energy savings for homeowners and dramatic comfort improvement in the home.

“In addition, Lodz-366 glass benefits the overall environment because its use results in reduced energy consumption to keep a home warmer and cooler in different seasons, thus reducing the use of fossil fuels.”

The visible light transmittance of Lodz-366 glass is 66 percent and the glass has a .27 SHGC (solar heat gain coefficient) which is significantly better than tinted, ordinary Low-E glass. In warmer climates, the Lodz-366 glass outperforms tinted glass without darkening the exterior view.

“New technologies have given us a terrific upgrade option with Lodz-366 glass for windows in both new and older homes,” says Burk. “This is the ultimate in thermal performance glass with a perfect balance of solar control and high visibility.”

Manufactured by Cardinal Glass Industries, Lodz-366 glass is constructed of a 12-layer patented formula and provides the highest levels of year-round comfort and energy savings available, making it the ideal glass for projects from coast-to-coast.
