August 21: Simonton Windows on
DIY Networks’ Blog Cabin
PARKERSBURG, WV – On Thursday, August 21st, viewers across America will get their first look at the windows selected for the 2008 Blog Cabin on the DIY Network. At 9:30pm EST, show #204 will air on the DIY Network featuring the selection and installation of almost two dozen energy-efficient Simonton windows.
“This beautiful cabin includes a Bay window, a variety of Double Hung units, Half-Round and Trapezoid windows,” according to Christopher Burk, product manager for Simonton Windows®. “Every window in the cabin is ENERGY STAR® qualified and features Low E with Argon gas sealed between the panes of glass for the ultimate in energy efficiency. This glass package helps block a substantial amount of harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays from entering the home and reduces energy costs.”
Located in Spring City, Tennessee, the 2008 Blog Cabin was designed “online” at www.diynetwork.com with input on features and products from millions of people. One of the most important decisions was the selection of windows for the lakeside home. Site visitors selected vinyl-framed Simonton windows for their maintenance ease, energy efficiency and durability.
“The Simonton windows in this cabin have driftwood colored interior and exterior vinyl frames with matching perimeter sculptured grids to complement the natural wooded setting of the cabin,” says Burk. “Each window was made with multi-chambered construction and fusion-welding on the corners for superior energy efficiency capabilities. Through all types of weather conditions, these windows will be shining stars in the cabin.”
This second Blog Cabin project with DIY Network represents a step into unique programming where the public becomes interactive in determining the design and product features of the log cabin. The step-by-step construction of the cabin will be shown in a 13-part TV series starting on August 14, 2008 at 9:00pm EST on the DIY Network. Immediately following the airing of the final episode, the network will select a winner at random to win the cabin.
